70 Plant Poetry

Water 1

Such fluidity

Travels visibly as silence

Through wood to sky

Water 2

Drops to grow the greenest

Living blades to cut the scent

Of sweet Spring grass

Water 3

Bereft of droplet touch

No grass can compass rain’s

Direction northward

A little challenge via WordPress’ Poetry Blogging Course which starts today. First day’s task – translate the theme of  “water”  into a “haiku” and include a simile.

A few hours later, it clicked that I had definitely not followed the rules of Haiku in keeping with the 5-7-5 syllables per line, of the 3 line poem structure. What a challenge. So again…..

Water 1

Fluidity as

Silence travels wood to sky

invisibly straight

Water 2

To grow sharp grassy

Living blades to cut a scent

Leaves must drink sweet dew

Water 3

Without waters touch

No grass can map a droplet’s

journey earthward bound

Water 4

After rain, bright white

Space is watery in weight

And dry with lightness

Finally

And now my brain hurts

Like a tortured flower head

Lay me down to rest….

PINK WATER

If Life is red water

Where living and loving flow

Love’s water is pink
